MOX:LIVE
Mox:Live is a London based new media and visual art group specialising in 2D/3D design, video production, direction, photography and installation art.
Mox:Live began in 2004 as an independent company collaborating with the established record label, Ninja Tune working alongside artists, such as Coldcut and Cinematic Orchestra, directing and producing live shows. This work spiralled into other exciting projects, which included a production for the BBC Culture Show.
It was this foundation that saw the business blossom into a rainbow of exiting projects and creative opportunities. These included music video production, graphic design, and live shows for popular artists; Flying Lotus, Johnny Flynn, Goldie and Imogen Heap.
From 2004 Mox:Live worked alongside popular UK and European events and festivals - Glastonbury, Bestival, Big Chill, SpringFestival, UAF, and Melt Festival - contributing towards their visual art and live shows.
In 2008 Mox:Live was commisioned by Kunsthaus Gallery in Graz Austria to create a piece using a digital Light Facade. Working alongside the renowned pianists Francseco Tristano and Kelvin Sholar, Mox:Live developed a three day long Audio Visual show piece named, ‘Conversation in Space’.
In 2009 Mox:Live worked on a commission for National Maritime Museum, designing an audio visual show on the facade of Queen’s House. Other cultural projects included work for East London Dance, Theatre Royal, Arts Council and Thames Festival. In 2005 Mox:Live created a 3D spherical installation outside of The Tate Modern, featuring composer Robert Miles as part of Thames Festival. As well as this outstanding experience, Mox:Live was commissioned by The Arts Council, East London Dance and Stratford Circus to produce a short social awareness film about human dependence on energy.
Other exceptional clients include BFI, Ministy of Sound and Red Bull. In 2009/2010 Mox:Live produced a video for the UK snowboard team and a series of audio visual live shows at The Royal Festival Hall and The Roundhouse - all in association with The Red Bull Academy. Work for Ministry of Sound demanded a commission for an audio visual installation that was developed for an event -marking the celebration of their 20th Birthday. As well as this Mox:Live created the striking visual branding and content for all Hed Kandi’s media and marketing.
After achieving a great deal of popularity while working with successful music labels, Mox:live continued to enjoy the opportunites that arose from it. In 2010 Mox:Live worked labels such as Metalheadz, Hospital Records and K7, advising and creating all their custom visual content production.
From 2006 - 2008 Mox:Live collaborated with the renowned, Therapy Films, working on a selection of music videos. Other short film productions included an artistic documentary for London Met Police in 2011, which saw collaborations with world famous DJs and producers.
In 2010 One Dot Zero, the famous International film festival, chose a short film by Mox:Live to be screened at their festival.
In 2010 Mox:Live created a special installation for the Diane Pernet, ‘ASVOFF’ event in Paris. This was a ‘Shaded View On Fashion’ film which was screened during fashion week in Paris. Other fashion projects include a special interactive 3D installation for the ‘Bread And Butter’ event in Berlin which was showcased in July 2011.
Most recently Mox:Live has been working on a promotional film, including ident/animation, for Giles Peterson’s Havana EP, in collaboration with Havana Cultura, released on the label Brownswood later this year. Work with Brownswood will continue with the production of a promotional film for the Giles Peterson music awards 2012.
Mox:Live continues to push the boundaries in visual design, developing surreal, abstract and futuristic creations that draw inspiration from a spectrum of media. Inspired by revered artists such as David Lachapelle, Michael Goundry, Ridley Scott, Quay Brothers, Frank O’Gary and Frank Ghery, as well a passion for old art cinema, Mox:Live is a pallet of creativity. His production constantly switches between analogue and digital techniques, while fuelling a desire to find an artistic balance between old beauty and exciting modernity. There is an abstract construction to his work, building and layering surreal images and effects, no doubt inspired by his MA in Architecture. Mox:Live continues to develop, pushing into the future with an open and creative mind while reaching out to exciting artists and projects that litter the world around him.
